You the return to Nanyuki and head to Ol pejeta Conservancy, situated at the foothills of the Aberdares and Mount Kenya, west of Nanyuki town. Ol Pejeta conservancy is home to the Northern white rhinos and also has a sanctuary for the rescued chimpanzees, forming the major attraction. Proceed to the Rift valley and head to lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha is the highest lake in the Rift Valley and also one of the few fresh water lakes in the Valley.

What To Expect From The 8 Days Wilderness Safari

The Masai Mara National Reserve is known for the annual wildebeest migration that takes place between end of July and October. Masai Mara is a vast savanna that provides home to a wide range of wild animals, both predators and prey, birdlife and also plant species. One has the best chance in the Masai Mara to sight the Big 5 in their natural habitat. Masai Mara National Reserve will thrill you with its abundance in wildlife concentration. The savanna plains are filled with zebras, gnus, antelopes, gazelles and herds of elephants. The highlight of this 8 days Wilderness safari is Mara river crossing as the herds of wildebeests and zebras cross the crocodile infested Mara river, some getting stuck in the rocks, others struggling in the stampedes and others being drowned by the crocodiles.

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu

After breakfast depart for a drive north passing through the heart of central Kenya to Samburu Game Reserve with a brief stop at the Equator where you may do a simple water test to ascertain the magnetic effect on the northern & southern sphere. Continue to Samburu set in the rugged semi-arid northern region with spectacular scenic landscape. Arrive in time for lunch at your preferred choice of accommodation and some leisure time. later in the afternoon head out on an exciting game-viewing drive thereafter return for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve

Full day in Samburu Game Reserve with morning and afternoon game viewing drives, in search of animals found only north of the equator such as long necked Gerenuk, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the Somali Ostrich. The Ewaso Nyiro River dotted with doom palms, acacia and giant fig trees meanders through the reserve. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Samburu – Aberdares

After an early breakfast, embark on your drive as you head to Nanyuki. On your way you might be lucky to  catch a glimse of animals that may have eluded you. Drive to Aberdare Country Club near Nyeri town. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge and some leisure time, later in the afternoon you will be driven to to the Ark where you stay for one night at the tree hotel within the heart of the Aberdare national park where you game view from the balconies of your lodge . Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Aberdares – Nakuru

After breakfast you will be transferred to Aberdare Country Club where you will join your safari driver to proceed on your trip to Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive in time for lunch. After a brief rest, proceed on an afternoon game drive before returning to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Nakuru – Naivasha

Wake up early and after a cup of coffee embark on an early morning game drive. Latter return to the camp for breakfast and check out. Drive out of the park as you head towards Naivasha, to reach there in time for lunch and thereafter head out to the Lake Naivasha for a boat ride around the lake. If time allows you can take a walk with the animals at the Crescent Island.

Day 6: Naivasha – Masai Mara

After an early breakfast depart for the World’s famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

Arrive in time for lunch at your camp. Spend the early afternoon at leisure and latter embark on a late afternoon game viewing drive. All meals and overnight at the camp.

Day 7: Masai Mara National Reserve

Full day in Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game viewing drives in search of the ‘big five’. Masai Mara is the northern most extension of the Serengeti Plains and one of the richest wildlife Game Reserves. It is home to the awesome black-manned lion, the elusive leopard, stately giraffes, vast bulk of elephants, rhino, thundering herds of zebra, migrating wildebeest and numerous other plains game. Return to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Mara Leisure Camp or similar.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: Balloon Safari over the Mara plains followed by a champagne breakfast

Day 8: Masai Mara – Nairobi

After a sumptuous breakfast, you will check out and then proceed with the drive back to Nairobi.
